The next boat (In building progress)
After 7 years of cruising we came to know what we are looking for:
1) A heavy boat that doesn't bounce everywhere in heavy seas.
2) Heavy but light enough with plenty of sails to go well in light wind.
3) No more then 26 feets to be easy to maintain and cost less to get good equipments.
4) Easy to repair everywhere in the world with tools we carry onboard.
5) Headroom below for living aboard more confortably
And we have found Paul Gartside design that we fall in love with. After a few changes on the structure we have came to buy this set a plans and start the work after sailing back with a broken boat to the construction site.
It's a 26ft gaff cutter that will be Douglas fir carvel planking over Black Locust double sawn frames (And some crook), bronze floors and laminated red cedar deck.
