Captain Donna Lange (USA)
It has been a pleasure along my own quest around the world to meet others with similar dreams.. Not just to accomplish a physical challenge and adventure but to further awareness and ignite passion in the hearts of those we meet toward caring for our oceans and all of nature.
I began email contact with Stephane during the second half of my journey and it is tremendous to see that he is nearing his departure date to circumnavigate the world in both directions. Though it is not to make a record, it represents the ideas of seeing the world from all perspectives, all values, to grow and be enlightened and then share that enlightenment with others. To be co-enlightened journeying alongside people from all cultures. To put that passion to work helping others as we go.
I am very excited that Stephane has chosen to represent OceansWatch as he sails the world, helping to bring more of the yachting community into an active role in humanitarian and ecological preservation work in the world. Just Fantastic.
Many thanks Stephane and to all those who are so giving in supporting his dream.
Fairest of Winds and Love,
Captain Donna Lange

Sailboat Kindred Spirit (France)
In little harbor we met a young Quebecois on board his 26 feet Contessa 'Joshua'. The boat is engineless and the only drive of the boat is wind. The salon is a size of a bathtub and he had sailed offshore up and down the US east coast 3 times.
We offered him a tow to get out of the harbor since the wind was almost on the nose. The entrance is very narrow and shallow and there are many rocks around. He politely declined.
When we got out of the harbor and we just couldn't believe our eyes. We saw that tiny Contessa with her full sails up slowly sailed out. I told Chris that we had to invite him for dinner. Hearing his adventures made us feel that what we did is nothing.
So on the way back to Marsh Harbor , we deliberately didn't use our engine and tacked and jibbed our way in 30 knots of wind. On that trip we took this photo of 'Joshua' (Picture).
